Data Protection Officer (DPO) Training Program
The Data Protection Officer (DPO) training program is a two-year post-graduate level training. In addition to theoretical knowledge, this training also offers this practical foundation that a DPO needs to be able to provide adequate data protection and privacy within his or her organization. Interested parties who would like to receive further training in one or more parts of this training are welcome to follow one or more modules.
Start: Tuesday, May 2, 2023
Number of training sessions: 30 half days
Investment: €500 per training
What is the DPO Training Program?
The training can largely be followed in your own time, because the modules are offered in an e-learning environment. Once a month you follow (online) classroom workshops.
The training is divided into 30 different modules in four clusters. Each module is concluded with the successful completion of an exam. It is possible to follow the entire training or to follow one or more modules of your choice.
The unique thing about following the DPO Training is the DPO Register. This includes both certified DPOs and aspiring DPOs. After successfully completing the first three modules of the DPO training you can already be included as a prospective DPO in the DPO Register of Duthler Academy.

Conditions, study load & exemption
Following the FG Training is not without obligation. By this we mean that presence and commitment is required. We also consider curiosity and enthusiasm to be an absolute precondition. A specific previous education is not required, although the HBO and/or WO courses in law, public administration, business administration, ICT and accountancy/audit form a logical starting level.
The study load is about 600hours for the complete course. This includes monthly attendance at the workshops at one of our locations.
The Duthler Academy Examination Board can grant exemptions in individual cases from taking one or more exams. A request for exemption must contain supporting documents (e.g. diplomas). A request for exemption can be submitted to the Board of Examiners via the email address: email@example.com.
The DPO Register is the register in which aspirant DPOs and certified DPOs are included. Aspirant DPOs follow the DPO training program and have passed exams in a minimum number of modules. Certified DPOs have already successfully completed the DPO training and are following the Duthler Academy Continuing Education (CE) program.
Continuing Education program
Certified DPOs have successfully completed the DPO training program and may call themselves Certified DPO (CDPO). To maintain the registration in the DPO Register, the Register DPOs follows the Continuing Education program (CE program) of Duthler Academy.
The Duthler Academy CE program consists of training activities aimed at increasing the knowledge and skills of the DPO. The training activities of the CE program are offered through workshops and e-learning activities.
Duthler Academy maintains the CE program and monitors its quality. The CE program is open to anyone interested. Only Certified DPOs can earn CE points from Duthler Academy. Via the website of Duthler Academy and via the training portal, you can register for the various workshops and training courses of the CE program.
