Privacy and related legislation
This module is part of course A4, ‘Privacy and related legislation’. After this course, the participants will have insight into the laws and regulations that are related to the European General Data Protection Regulation. This includes legislation and regulations that further elaborate on formal legislation, as well as sector-specific or subject-specific legislation and regulations, as well as related legislation and regulations.
- Examples of the first category are decisions and ministerial regulations.
- Examples of the second category are formal laws such as the Medical Treatment Contracts Act (WGBO), the Personal Records Database (BRP) and the Police Data Act (Wpg).
- Examples of the third category are Book 2 of the Dutch Civil Code, which regulates the law of annual accounts and governance codes.

Obligations associated with this part
To fulfill the obligations under this section, you must:
- Make a diagnostic test, in preparation for the subject matter to be followed;
- Take a diagnostic test after the self-study, which must be completed with a pass. This is a condition for participation in the workshop;
- To be present during the workshop;
- A final exam with a passing mark.
Study load
The self-study takes about 16 hours, the workshop takes about 4 hours and the final exam takes about 2 hours.
