In this first module of cluster D2, the necessity and design of a Data Protection Impact Assessment (DPIA) for different situations is discussed. It addresses questions such as: in which situations should a PIA be carried out; how is a DPIA performed; how can you monitor the implementation of a DPIA, and how can you assess the results and act on this within their organization?

In this module, the necessity and design of a Data Protection Impact Assessment (DPIA) for various situations is discussed. Questions such as: in which situations should a DPIA be performed; how is a DPIA performed; how can you supervise the implementation of a DPIA, and how can you assess the results and act accordingly within their organization?
Under the WBP, the investigation was referred to as a PIA. The GDPR refers to a data protection impact assessment, but it is common to use the English name: Data Protection Impact Assessment.
Obligations associated with this part
To fulfill the obligations under this section, you must:
- Make a diagnostic test, in preparation for the subject matter to be followed;
- Take a diagnostic test after the self-study, which must be completed with a pass. This is a condition for participation in the workshop;
- To be present during the workshop;
- A final exam with a passing mark.
Study load
The self-study takes about 16 hours, the workshop takes about 4 hours and the final exam takes about 2 hours.
